Scooter is a resilient 5-month old Lab mix puppy who has already endured more challenges than most pups his age should ever face. Found as a stray, Scooter was in a dire state when CILRA stepped in to help save his life. He was dehydrated, malnourished, and suffering from a fractured hip. CILRA authorized immediate surgery by a veterinary specialist; the hip surgery was successful and is now being followed by physical therapy so Scooter can regain his strength and mobility. He will need a patient loving family willing to continue this PT program. He will also need to be neutered, at CILRA’s expense. He weighed 34 lbs. at a recent vet visit. This young Lab’s spirit is very strong. Despite his challenges, his foster family describes him as a “kind old soul” – a testament to his enduring courage and loving nature. Scooter is crate-trained, house-trained, enjoys other dogs (cats are unknown), walks well on leash, and is low-to-medium energy. He is being fostered in Westfield, IN.
