Karl is a 6 yr. old, 70 lb. chocolate Lab. When CILRA first came on the scene, he was in real need of being rescued. He was extremely underweight, had several different infections including heartworm disease, and had absolutely no idea how a dog was supposed to behave. He was found as a stray, and never had a chance to be part of a loving family. Since he’s been in CILRA’s foster care, his infections have completely cleared up, he has a shiny, healthy coat (no ribs/backbone showing on this boy now!), and his teeth and ears are finally in good shape. Karl worked his way through a mischievous phase of getting into things and testing his boundaries, but he stuck with his patient foster family as they showed him the ropes…and now he’s like a completely different dog! Karl has developed into a Lab that any family might dream to have as a beloved companion. He would do best in a home with no other dogs (especially one without small dogs or cats). He still needs some work on his leash skills, but he LOVES to be with his family and kids, can be left alone loose inside for hours at a time, and just peacefully sleeps on his blanket waiting for your return. He will quietly greet you at the door, tail wagging with happiness that you are finally home to be with him! Please give this Good Boy a good look.
