Get ready for cuteness overload! Ellie is a four month old black Lab mix who is looking for her forever family. Ellie had a rough start to her life, and is continuing her recovery from Parvovirus. At one time, her prognosis was quite grave. But now she is growing healthier and stronger every day, and is ready for her next exciting chapter. Ellie must have a family where someone is home most of the time, and has another doggo she can play with. She is lively, snuggly, and loves to play and play and play, and then crash – it’s a puppy thing! She loves people and other dogs, but hasn’t been around children. Ellie was introduced to cats and she paid attention to their cues and left them alone. She may chase a more timid cat just because she wants to play. She is a pretty mild puppy and is not hyperactive. Since she’s a young-un, Ellie is still working on housebreaking and learning other basic training. When she’s old enough, she will need to be spayed (at CILRA’s expense), and she is also in the process of getting all her vaccinations. This little girl loves to cuddle and sleep right next to her people. She’s having fun exploring in the back yard and nibbling on plants. It’s all new to her! Ellie is being fostered in northeast Indiana.

Adopting a Lab can be a wonderful experience. Your new dog will need lots of love, adequate exercise and attention. Keep in mind that dog ownership may include additional costs for training, grooming, and health care beyond annual vaccines and monthly preventatives. It’s a lifetime commitment!
