This is Daisy, a 4 month old black Lab mix. She is petite, smart, a complete love sponge, and will make a wonderful companion, She is amazingly sweet and very submissive – loves to snuggle and just be close to her family. On Day 1 in her foster home, she was very timid and didn’t want to be more than a foot away from people, but by Day 3 she was racing around the back yard, learning to retrieve, walking across (scary!) vinyl floors, and even getting a bit more comfortable walking on a leash.
Daisy is very sensitive and responsive, and will do just about anything to be petted and fawned over. She is adapting well to crate training for 2-3 hours during the day, and sleeps quietly in her crate all night. She sits politely for her meals and before getting a treat, and is also learning a few other basic commands. Because she is very young, she needs patient, consistent obedience training in her new home.
She is a typical puppy: short attention span, becomes more inquisitive as her confidence builds, enjoys chewing, plays hard, naps hard. She needs a family who will help her build self-confidence, and give her more socialization and training. Because she is small and somewhat shy, she may do best in a home with other submissive dogs – or at least dogs who won’t overwhelm her, and will tolerate the antics of a puppy. Daisy is being fostered in Crawfordsville, IN – about one hour west of Indianapolis.
