Cooper R. is a 6-year-old, male black Lab. He is housebroken and crate trained, but can freely roam the house when left alone. Cooper responds well to commands such as sit, down, stay, come, and shake. He is extremely intelligent and learns new things quickly. He is friendly with other dogs and happily shares food and water bowls. He is good with children, although he may be better in a home with elementary or older kids as he is almost 90 pounds and doesn’t really know his own strength. Cooper is learning to walk without pulling on a leash, and does well with a Gentle Leader head halter. He needs an active adopter who can give him the exercise and continued training he needs. A traditional fenced yard is preferred but not mandatory. Cooper is sweet and cuddly – if he is asked to come up on the couch with his foster Mom, he will lie on her lap and enjoy some pets. Cooper is up-to-date on his vaccines and is a happy and healthy dog. Cooper lived his whole life in a one-story house and is learning to be comfortable going up and down stairs. He is being fostered in Aurora, Illinois.
