Cooper is a beautiful, 2 year old, 65-pound chocolate Lab mix who is looking for his forever home. He loves his people, bonds quickly and is eager to please. His perfect match will be a loving home environment that will provide this athletic, energetic boy the exercise he needs. Cooper’s new adopter will need experience owning a dog and be committed to continue working with him on his leash-walking skills and comfort levels around other dogs; he can be reactive depending on the dog. He’s had two sessions with a trainer and already has some established guidelines for training. He’s made good progress, is receptive to training and learns very quickly. His treats for good behavior are lots of petting and “good boys” since he’s not very food motivated (although he does love cheese!). Cooper is housebroken, crate trained and loves the great outdoors! He also loves to go for car rides. His adoptive home will need to have a traditional fence (preferably a privacy fence), no other pets, and no children under age 18. Cooper is fostered in Indianapolis, IN.
