Cooper is a beautiful three year old 120 pound yellow Lab that came to CILRA from a busy working family who didn’t have enough time to devote to him with their busy schedules. Cooper was purchased from a breeder and has been loved dearly but also spent a good amount of time in a crate. He is kindhearted and loving, but will need continuous work on his manners – especially since he’s so big. In the short amount of time Cooper has been with his foster family, he has improved dramatically walking/jogging on a leash, is learning basic commands, and his energy level is much more even keeled now that he’s not in a crate all day. He is a gentleman around the foster family’s two year old son, is neither aggressive nor submissive with their 8 year old Lab, and is completely house trained. He does bark at knocks on the door, does not jump up when greeting people, and allows his nails to be trimmed. With continuous and firm obedience training, Cooper is and will continue to be a fantastic family member. He is currently being fostered in Lafayette and is ready for his forever home!
