Blondie is a beautiful yellow Lab who is looking for her forever home. She is 5 years old and weighs 63 lbs. She came from a breeder where she probably was not socialized to any extent or given any affection. She is very timid and shy but really thrives on being lovingly petted. Blondie’s ideal home would be a quiet one, with someone who is home most of the day and has 1 or 2 confident and out-going (but non-dominant) dogs that can show her how to be a dog again. She might be fine with children who are slightly older, on the calm side, and not rambunctious. Patience is key to bringing this sweet and gentle girl out of her shell. Blondie walks well on a leash but does get scared when new people approach her and may try to bolt. She is house-trained and does not need to be crated. She needs to regain her confidence that people are not going to hurt her or make her do things she does not want to do. She wags her tail when talked to sweetly and will nudge your hand when she wants a loving pet. In the right family, Blondie has enormous potential to blossom into a “Cinderella” of dogs. This wonderful girl is being fostered in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
