Gus is a 6 year old Lab who has lived with me for the past 4 years.  He is loyal and loving--he's happiest following people from room to room or chasing rabbits with my other dog.  I adopted him when his first owner passed away unexpectedly and no one could take care of him.  Gus is a joyful, energetic dog with a surprising amount of puppy energy in him still.  He is charming enough that I have struggled with whether or not I should try to find him a new home, even though my life has changed significantly (an adopted 4 year old daughter and two 2 year old sons) and I can no longer give him the attention and activity level he needs.  Gus would be the perfect dog for an active dog person.  He's very low maintenance: housebroken, knows simple commands including "sit" "down" "outside" "go" "wait" etc., has been regularly vaccinated and examined, has just had a dental cleaning, has been on heart worm prevention and flea prevention., gets along with my other dog, can be left in the house all day without messing things up, has been crated some in the past (although he would have to get used to it again), and despite being active can be mellow and chill out for most of the day.  Gus has two minor medical issues that the vet and I have been working on, if you're interested in a loving, companion dog contact me and I will fill you in.  I also have a short video clip I can send you.  Please consider this handsome guy.  Laura Thomson, Tolono, IL,(Central Illinois) LT15657@yahoo.com
Sullivan County Animal Shelter (5/25/10) My name is Saint and I am 3 years old. They tell me I am a Lab/shepherd mix. I was found in southern Sullivan County with my collar and leash attached. I am micro chipped but my owners never registered me. I have been at the shelter for a while and no one has even called about me. I really would like to find a home where I would have someone to lay around with and love on me. I also like to walk and am good on leash. I am a very good boy, I promise I'm a saint! You can check me out at the Sullivan county Animal Shelter in Sullivan, In. 812-243-1493.
Sullivan County Animal Shelter (5/25/10) My name is Luke and I am almost 2 years old. I was found around Sullivan Lake by one of the nice ladies that volunteers at the shelter. I knocked on her door and she let me in. Then she took me to the Sullivan Animal Shelter. I have been at the shelter for a while now. I guess my owner didn't really want me or they would have looked for me. I would love to find a forever home with someone that would play fetch with me and rub my belly. I love to run and play. I am also already "fixed". For more information contact the Sullivan County Animal Shelter

(2/24/10) Jasmine is a small Lab mix who is around 2 yrs old. She weighs around 30 lbs.  After Jasmine had puppies her owners sent her to a shelter where she was taken in by a rescue worker.  She is very sweet, loves people and loves being petted.  She can be a bit shy at first. She gets along with other dogs but will chase cats.  Jasmine turns into a wiggle worm when her foster comes home and loves to give doggie kisses.  She is fostered in Indianapolis.

(2/24/10) Charger is a Lab/shepherd mix but looks mostly like a black Lab.  He has the Lab temperament-loves everyone and is cat friendly.  He is 1 year old, his shots are up to date, he has been neutered and is house trained.  Charger lives in Avon, IN.  Anyone interested may contact Jessica Evans at 317-656-9050

(1/14/10)My husband rescued a Lab in southern Indiana on Interstate 64 close to Clarksville.

Sammy, is a female Lab mix. She is ~ 40 lbs, black and she has been spayed. She is very sweet and housebroken. She is awesome around other dogs and kids.  She is missing two toes on her front left paw but it is not an injury that disables her. She is active and walks and runs on this paw just fine. We do not know her vaccination status so if he is adopted he would need to get updated shots.

She is located in Fishers, IN. The contact info is Lneff@comcast.net or Scott Neff at 765-749-8822 or Lori Neff at 317-403-7442.
