(5/2/08) Copper was dropped off at the Humane Society in Bardstown, KY with a note saying he was good with other dogs and children. He sure would like a new home. He is a beautiful chocolate male around 2 yrs old. He would love a fenced yard to run and play in. Please contact the shelter in Bardstown at 502-349-2082. E-mail is hsncpets@Bardstown.com.
Joliet, IL (4/17/08)**URGENT**  Harley, my 7 year old black Lab mix is very sweet little boy.  He is up to date with his shots, has tested negative for heartworm and is neutered.  He has always lived with another dog and gets along well with other dogs but I am not sure about cats since he has never met one yet.  Harley gets excited when someone first comes to the house, but quickly calms down once they are inside for a few minutes.  Harley may do better in a home with older children due to his exuberance.  He has been my protector and will bark at people outside and will also bark at other dogs. Unfortunately we have to move to a place that won't allow us to have two dogs and our other lab is 13 years old and not considered adoptable due to age.  It breaks my heart to have to re-home him so if you know of a good home for him please pass this information on to them.  We have to move May 1st, 2008!  Please contact: Michelle Maksim #815-260-3604 or e-mail her at  mlmaksim@yahoo.com for more info.

Tinley Park, IL

(4/17/08) Meet Ruckus!  This adorable 3 yr old Lab mix boy is just awesome.  He loves to go for walks, retrieve tennis balls, chew bones and will lay at your feet when you are relaxing.  He has energy to burn right now since he has been locked up in his crate for his recovery from his heartworm treatment.  Ruckus is very sweet to everyone he meets.  He gets along very well with his foster brother and sister and is good with kids too.  He is completely crate trained and housebroken.  If you are looking for a pup with energy but  can also relax he is you boy.  Ruckus is a quick study while learning to walk on a leash.  He will require obedience training so that he will know what you want from him.  If you would like to meet this little angel please call Donna @ 630-207-4964

Whitley County Humane Shelter (1/22/08) Drake's owner surendered him.  He has, according to the owner, spent his life chained to a doghouse.  You could not tell by playing with him, he doesn't jump up, he can sit, and is good around children.  I do not know if he is housebroken, but his kennel is always clean.

(1/11/08) This very sweet and very timid black Lab mix is in dire need of a home.  She was found after having puppies and was cared for by sympathetic rescuers.  Her puppies have been placed but because she needs a very caring, patient enviornment she is still waiting for her turn.  She gets along well with other dogs.  Please contact Jodi at 812-251-7542.

Hancock County Dog Pound - Carthage, IL *URGENT* (1/3/08) Both of these two are wonderfully sweet!! The black one is a male, neutered and maybe 5+ years old. The choc one is a female, older 5+ and about 35 pounds, both as you can see are dog friendly. The black boy was actually put into the a.c. truck in his dog box while he was at a city council meeting!! A guy called him and told him that the dog was a stray. Geez, nice! The choc girl was also a stray, neither are going to be reclaimed and because of the holidays, I haven't had a chance to post them, now their time is almost up. They are mellow and so very terrific so please help me save them! Transport is available. My cell is 319-795-4221, thank you, Anissa

American Animal Rescue Society (12/14/07) Delilah, a 4 yr old Black Labrador Retriever is looking for a foster or better yet forever home. She was saved from euthanasia from a high kill facility along with her litter of puppies. All 7 of her pups have found their forever homes but Delilah is still waiting. When Delilah came to AARS she was heartworm positive but since has successfully completed treatment and is hw free! She is currently in a foster home but needs to find another foster home by the end of the week! She is a wonderful girl who is laid back and loving. She'd prefer to be the only dog in the home she goes to. She's great with children and cats, is crate trained and house broken. Fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Please spread the word about Delilah and let's find her a home! If anyone is interested or has questions, please contact Joanna with AARS at info@AARSociety.org
