Doc
is a beautiful 6 year old black Lab with excellent mannaers.
He is crate trained, but trustworthy without crating.
Doc is also housebroken, walks well on a lead and takes treats
gently. A good boy. Doc loves to have his ears
scratched and to get those great belly rubs. He enjoys
planning with other dogs and ignores the cats in his foster
hojme. He may be a bit timid at first, but before ong
he will be romping around and chasing tennis balls.
All he needs is a loving forever family. Doc is fostered
in Terre Haute, Indiana.

 Starr
is a beautiful, loving, laid back 8 year old chocolate Lab.
All she wants out of life is to receive lots of love and attention.
She is very well behaved in the house and does not need to be
crated. She doesn't get on furniture, is quiet and easy
going. Star loves to lay at your feet as you watch TV - a real
couch poptato! She gets along great with other dogs, walks
nicely on a leash, loves to swim, just a really wonderful Lab.
Starr also loves to run around her fosters yard. She is
active and will make a wonderful companion for any family. She
is fostered in Brazil, IN just west of Indianapolis off of I-70.
|
Jasper
is a sweet and fun loving 5-6 year old Labby boy looking for
a loving home. He was saved when a wonderful person pulled
him from a shelter down South that had caught on fire.
Jasper is completely house broken; crate trained, and walks
well on a leash. Prior to his heartworm treatment he was
playing with his foster brother and sister but has had to be
kept quiet since it started. He loves to go on walks but
will lie on the floor near you if you are inside. Jasper
is a very friendly and loving with everyone along with other
dogs but cats are an unknown. He is being fostered in
Tinley Park, IL.

Tyson
is a happy 3 year old yellow male Lab. He's very active and
loves to play, especially with the other dog in his foster home.
He would do well in a family with kids, another dog, and someone
that's home all day. He loves lots of affection. Tyson walks
well on a leash. His foster family is working with him on staying
out of the trash can, but he's well behaved otherwise. Tyson
is a little overweight, and he's missing the tip of his left
ear, which is due to a birth defect.
|
|
Gabe
is a 4.5 year old black male Lab who is good with children,
cats and dogs. He is a friendly guy and knows the command
to sit. He would love to have a chance to learn to be
better on a lead by taking long walks with you. He is
crate trained and housebroken. Gabe is a big boy
and with exercise could loose a few pounds. He would
love an active family who would play with him and give him
lots of love and attention. He would give his loyalty
back in return. Gabe is fostered on the north side of
Indianapolis.

Winston
is a survior of the Katrina nightmare. He was very depressed,
heartworm positive, had an eye infection, absessed tooth and
was very underweight. He now is a happy, loving black
Lab who is about 8 yrs old. His nickname is "Mr.
Wiggles", because his whole body wiggles whenever he
comes in from outside or wants to be petted. He is attached
to his bone which he carries everywhere - much like
a child's security blanket. He has been taught that
he must lay down the bone before he gets his food bowl. He
is housebroken and crate trained. Winston has not been
around cats but will happily chase the squirrels. He
is looking for a home where he can lay by your feet with his
bone at his side. He is fostered north of Indianapolis.
He will require a traditional fenced in yard.

My
name is
Bebe.
I am a 3 month old black spayed Labrador female.
Just like all puppies I love to play, sleep and eat. My foster
mom says that I am a great puppy. She is working very hard
on potty training and teaching me good manners. I walk very
nice on a leash and sit when I want a cookie. I spend part
of the day and the night in a crate, and I learned to settle
down fast. My foster sister and I go on a lot of walks and
I really enjoy all the attention from children and adults.
My foster brother doesn’t come on walks with us since he is
a kitten but I play with him a lot at home. So far, I don’t
have a favorite toy as my big foster sister and foster brother
are a lot of entertainment. I will do the best in a home where
someone has time to take me out to potty quite often, play
with me and take me to puppy classes. I am being fostered
in Chicago, IL near Wrigley Field.
|
Bogie
is a very sweet chocolate boy said to be around the age of 4.
He is house trained; crate trained, loves to chase the ball
and play with his Kong. He is good on a leash and is very happy
when his foster Mom takes him on walks. Bogie gets along with
all the other dogs but cats are unknown. At night he sleeps
uncrated in the bedroom with his foster family. Bogie would
like to go to an obedience class so that he can bond with his
new forever family and learn some new tricks. Bogie is being
fostered in the South West Suburbs of Chicago. Come on by and
meet him!

Cocoa
is a quiet 7 year old chocolate Lab who is housetrained, crate
trained, cat friendly and loves to play fetch with a tennis
ball. She loves to be the center of attention and would like
to be the only dog. She would do best with children 12 and up.
She tends to retreat to her crate when things get too busy around
her. She would love to play in a traditional fenced in yard
and go for walks. She will be a wonderful Labby companion. Cocoa
is fostered in Brazil, Indiana, west of Indianapolis off of
I-70.

Bailey
is an approximately 2 yr old black male who came to CILRA
from a shelter in Ohio. He is an energetic guy who is
also very good in the house. He knows some commands
such as sit and shake. He is a taller Lab more of the
field type Lab. Very nice looking boy. Bailey
gets along with other dogs. He is getting interested
in the cats but has been very gentle. Just still does
not quite know what they are. He would be best with
older children due to his size. Bailey will need a traditional
fenced in yard with a higher fence. He loves to play
and would be great for a person who loves to run. He
is very social and would be fine to take to new places.
Bailey is fostered northwest of Indianapolis.

*Adopted*Hi
there, my name is Sam.
I am nine months old and all boy! I am on the smaller
side and won't be too big when full grown. I went to two
puppy classes and know how to sit and wait so that is good.
Foster mom says I need to work on not jumping up but I get so
excited sometimes! So we are working on that, I also need
to not pull so hard on the leash but we are also working on
that-there again I just get so excited to go places! I
am completely housebroken, go in my crate for a cookie and don't
bark or cry when in my crate. I sleep there and in my
crate when foster mom and dad are at work. I LOVE to play
ball, bet I can outlast you! I like to go for rides in
the back seat also. I may be too much for smaller children
until I grow up a little bit-you know us labs-we don't like
to grow up. If you are looking for a best friend and someone
to play with or walk with or run with then I am your boy.
I can't wait to find my forever family. I am fostered
near Huntington, Indiana.

*Adopted*Buddy
is a very sweet 1.5 to 2 yr old chocolate Lab who came from
a shelter in Indiana. Buddy was very unsure of things
and would creep on his belly to you. For a few days
he was afraid to come into his foster home. With patience
and reassurance Buddy has made great progress. He readily
comes when called and runs into the house. He is playiung
and acting very happy. Buddy had been shot with buckshot.
Much of it was removed while he was at the shelter.
A few pieces remain but they have been healed over with new
skin and cause no problem. But no wonder this boy was
tentative. He is good with other dogs and should be
fine with children. He will need a traditional fenced
in yard. He is housebroken and crate trained.
Buddy is fostered in Greenwood, Indiana.
|
*Adopted*Champ
is a beautiful 8 yr old yellow male Lab who acts much
younger than his age. He is slim and trim and loves to
retrieve a tennis ball. Champ is housebroken and trustworthy
in the house without being crated. He is fine with cats
- pretty much ignores them - and gets along well with
other dogs. He should be fine with children over the age
of 6. Champ truly loves being near his family. He
will bark to come back in when left outside alone, but this
could be because he has always been an outside dog. He
is now enjoying being an inside dog. Champ sleeps on the
floor of the bedroom at night. This boy will make a wonderful
companion. He is fostered northwest of Indianapolis.
|
 *Adopted*Jakob
is an 18 month old beautiful black male Lab who was rescued
from a shelter in Indiana. He is a charmer who loves to
chase a tennis ball. This boy currently weighs 72
lbs but will gain a bit as he fills out his rib cage which can
now be seen. He gets along with other dogs, but can be
a bit possessive of toys at first. He ignores the cats
in his foster home. He gives an instant tail wag when
you speak to him. Jakob is working on crate training
in his new foster home. With attention and a loving family Jakob
will be a wonderful labby companion. Jakob
knows the commands sit and shake. He takes treats very
gently. We are working on curbing his counter surfing.
Playing with the other dogs in the yard is his joy.
He is fostered
in Terre Haute, IN.

*Adopted*Hi
there, my name is Josie.
I am a dark chocolate, 2 year old female Lab. You know
what they say about dark chocolate-I am so sweet! I am
spayed, up to date on all shots, completely housebroken, crate
trained, I go in my crate for you so easy. I love to go
for walks and rides in the back seat. I do bark when someone
comes to my door but then I give them a big kiss. I also
bark when I have to go potty and in my crate so I will tell
you so we won't have any problems. I LOVE to play with my ball
and can play for hours. I am a little overweight so foster
mom is working on a little less food and a little more running
and playing in the yard. I went to obedience class but
then no one ever practiced with me so I need a little reminder
sometimes but foster mom is working on that with he. I
love attention and love belly rubs so will be your best friend.
I may be a little much for a toddler but you know Labs they
grow up slowly. So hopefully my forever family will read
this and come meet me and adopt me as part of their family.
I am fostered near Huntington, Indiana.

belly rubs occasionally too. She isn't much of a beggar
and takes treats gently. When she gets tired she will
seek out a quiet area of the house and lay down. Sherpa

*Adopted*Hi,

 *Adopted*Hi
my name is Moses.
I am 8 years young and full of life. I am looking for
a forever home with a family that will love me and spend time
with me. I love kids as I used to live with 5 little ones.
I don't mind cats and other dogs although I like being the one
on the sofa on your lap so if you have another dog we need to
decide who gets you first on the sofa! I love to go for
rides in my foster mom's SUV. I walk very well on my leash,
know how to sit, stay, and all of the other good things dog
should know how to do. I won't get on your counter or
trash. I stay in my crate at foster mom's as there are
5 other dogs there but really don't need to have a crate if
I am the only one in the home. I have a few extra pounds
to shed and foster mom is helping on that (not as much food
and more exercise). I do need to take my thyroid meds
every day and they are very inexpensive-only about $10.00 a
month-I am worth that for sure! Foster mom says I have
a beautiful face, milk chocolate eye liner she calls it.
I am current on all of my shots and heartworm neg and on preventative
monthly for that. I hope to find a home that will love
me forever and give me lots of lap time. I am fostered
near Huntington, Indiana (northeast Indiana).

gets along with other dogs and children. Cats are unknown,
but he has a very loving nature and his foster family thinks
he will get along with everyone. Buddy was heartworm positive
and has received treatment. This great boy has been
very cooperative and a good sport about being a little less
active during his recovery. A couple more weeks and he
will be off of his restrictions. Buddy does not beg or
get in the trash and has very good manners. He will make
a loyal companion and a really fun addition to his new family.
He is fostered on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

 *Adopted*Sampson
is a sweet little boy approximately 1 ½ years old and weighs
about 55 lbs. Sampson was in a shelter in
Quincy IL
where an angel saw him shaking and cowering in the back of his
cage. The angel pulled him out of the cage and took him
home even though she knew she couldn’t keep him. If she
had left him she was sure no one would ever see how cute, loving
and smart he is. She called CILRA and asked if we had
room for such a love. Sampson is very shy of people until
he gets to know you but he just ADORES other dogs and will play
with them until he drops. He is completely house trained,
no counter surfing, listens very well and has a very gentle
mouth. His new foster home is just amazed with him!!
He stays in the kitchen and laundry room of the house during
the day and hasn’t even bothered with the open bag of dog food
that is on the floor in the laundry room! (Foster Mom forgot
about it until she got to work) Sampson is learning to
sit and comes when called. He is also learning what toys
are but he isn’t too sure what to do with them yet. Sampson
is being fostered in
Tinley Park, Illinois.

|
 *Adopted*Peaches
is a 1.5 year old spayed black female who was rescued when her
original owners wanted to shoot her because they could not find
a shelter to take her to and could not handle her. Amazing.
She is a real love and just a normal Lab. She loves riding
in the car and will put her head on your shoulder. She
walks well on a leash, is housebroken and follows commands for
sit and stay. She tends to be a bit dominant when first
meeting new dogs but quickly sorts this out and has gotten along
fine with dogs in her rescue home and in her current foster
home. She loves playing with other dogs. We do not
know how she would be with cats. Children should be fine.
Peaches is fostered in Terre Haute, Indiana.
|

young baby to be left on his own. He was taken in by a
kind family after appearing in their yard. He is a very

to gain more confidence but that should come easily. Bo
will be a wonderful dog for the right family. He is fostered
northwest of Indianapolis.
|

shows all the characteristics of his mother's Lab-ness.
He loves to play and fetch, or lay in the grass and pounce on
tumbling leaves, or lay at your feet and chew his favorite Nylabone.

*Adopted*Chief
is a really special black Lab who hopes to find
his new forever family. Chief is 5 years young and as happy
as can be. He is great with children, good with other dogs,
loves to get a bath, enjoys playing ball or any other dog
toys he can get his paws on. Chief is perfectly content riding
in the car and wagging his tail. Chief came to CILRA when he
became lost from his home one day and sadly was never reunited.
Good Samaritans felt he was too sweet of a boy not to have a
good home, so they are fostering him until he is adopted. Chief
is fostered in Milford, IL and anxious for some home cooking
and a warm bed to sleep in.

is Jersey Girl
– a sweet, lovable 10 month old black Lab. She is
crate trained, house trained, and walks easily on a leash.
Jersey loves to go for walks-especially if swimming is a part
of the exercise time. She is very playful, gets along
great with other dogs-shares toys and food. Jersey is
a little shy and timid in new surroundings and would be best
in a home where someone is at home most of the time. She

the cats too. Her family could no longer keep her due

give. She is very smart and attentive. This beautiful
girl is fostered northwest of Indianapolis.

*Adopted*Milly
is a very sweet and friendly 44 lb. yellow Lab approximately
8 months old. She does have a little bit of another breed
in her which is evident in her tail but personality wise she
is 100% Lab. She was found as a stray and for some reason,
no one came to the humane shelter to claim her. She is
house trained, crate trained, friendly to other dogs, walks
easily on a leash. She loves to play , swim and be the
center of attention. Milly is very calm and easy-going
but always ready to play. She is just beginning to learn
sit and down. Milly is not cat friendly-to her they are furry
critters to chase and play with. Milly is fostered
in Brazil, In., about 1 hour west of Indy.

 *Adopted*Curious
George is looking
for a new home. He is black and weighs about 65 lbs
but should fill out and be a bit bigger when full grown.
This boy was rescued from a shelter in Ohio where dogs are
only kept a short time and he really loves his foster home.
The other dogs in the home have welcomed George and are helping
to teach him his manners. He is very puppy acting and
is guessed to be about 10 months old. He is very friendly,
very active and seemed to be starved for human contact.
George is learning some basic commands such as Sit, No and
down to jumping. He is being crate trained too.
George surprisingly walks well on a leash. This boy
will need a traditional fenced in yard. He would do
best with children over the age of 8 years. Cats are
an unknown. With some more training George will make
a very good Lab family companion. He is fostered in
Indiana near Cincinnati.

 *Adopted*Simon
is a beautiful 1.5 yr old yellow male who was neutered
as a puppy. He is great with other dogs and is wonderful
with children. He still has a lot of puppy in him, of
course. Simon walks well on a leash, is housebroken
and crate trained. Simon takes an allergy pill every
other day to help his feet from itching. He is allergic
to corn but has a food that he tolerates without problem. The
medication cost averages about $25 for 6 months. He
has gone camping and loves to ride in the car. He greets
people with a big tail wag. Simon was well loved in
his home and it was only by extreme necessity that his owner
had to give him up. He will make a wonderful lab for
the right family. Simon is fostered on the southside of Indianapolis.
